Sweet Potato Fritters

What goes better with soup than a fritter? I made sweet potato fritters to go with the corn chowder. The recipe is from 18th Century Recipes (South African Culinary Tradition)  http://funkymunky.co.za/eighteen.html

Sweet Potato Fritters

2 cups sweet potato, cooked and mashed
half cup cake flour
2 eggs, beaten  (I added 1/2 tsp baking powder and 1/2 tsp salt)
cinnamon sugar (or cinnamon mixed with Stevia)

Mix the sweet potato and flour and add egg and cinnamon sugar to make a soft batter, adding little milk if necessary. Form into patties and fry in hot fat (or in butter like I did) . Serve with honey and lemon.
